Gabel and Martin receive NSF Grant
Professors Matt Gabel and Andrew Martin recently received a grant from the Law and Social Science program at the National Science Foundation to support a project titled "A Cross-National Study of Judicial Institutionalization and Independence." The project aims to understand why some courts exert influence over policy outcomes while others do not, and the extent to which institutional design affects judicial influence. During this two-year pilot study the research team will collect and code decisions made by constitutional courts in 60 countries for a single calendar year.
