Technological Expertise
Information technology plays an important role at CERL. Indeed, most scholars conducting social scientific or empirical legal research do not adequately harness available information technology to enhance the reliability and efficiency of their research. At CERL we specialize in a variety of technological methods germane to data collection and manipulation. Using proven technologies, we create sophisticated systems that facilitate data collection, analysis, and dissemination.

The creation of complex systems such as these requires several disparate capabilites. Within the CERL toolbox we possess expertise in:
  • information architecture
  • data harvesting
  • statistical computation
  • database design
  • interface design
  • web usability
  • workflow optimization
  • web development
  • application programming (in a wide range of languages and platforms)
  • system administration
Additionally, should a specialty need arise, we have access to a wide collection of experts on which to draw.
